I often think that that there is little I can do to influence events on a national or international basis. I write letters and sign petitions but I am never sure what influence they may or may not have.

When I do things on a local basis to bring people together I begin to feel that I may be taking small steps that could make a big difference. After all, when you speak with someone, sing with them, break bread together it is much easier to see the authentic person behind the persona.

It was with this in mind that I became a founding member of Serving The One. This interfaith organization has a vision to “create a community where the natural expression of our humanity and spirituality flourishes.”
